A New Lease of Life for Endangered Heritage Fruits

In March 2008 twelve heritage fruits – nine pear and three grape varieties – were introduced on land on the Bodrum peninsula belonging to Meltem Kurtsan, president of the Otacı company. Interest in local natural and cultivated plants prompted her to volunteer to adopt these endangered varieties. Kamil Karakuş did the grafting.
